I have worked with The Eventing Way for 6 years of my eventing career. Throughout they have been an amazing team, passionate and professional about horses, as well as friendly kind, and committed in supporting me to achieve my objectives. Working with Stephen Way has hugely improved my understanding, ability and style in cross country riding. Along with one to one intensive training he has guided and assisted me to get to top events from National class to the Olympics, sharing his wealth of knowledge with me at every phase. When we walk each cross-country course together his passion and knowledge are amazing. He has also worked hard to help me overcome my nervousness with Dressage, getting me to the point where my scores are low 30’s at international level.

Arko was pig ignorant, never stood still to get on, barged me etc not to mention how unfocused he was to ride, resistant, argumentative and basically too big for me. My daughter and I have been clients since September 2014, when we arrived at their yard with our new pony and very little experience. Since then my daughter has progressed from a nervous novice with the help of regular lessons from Steve and happily spends her holidays helping at the yard.
I have been lucky enough to buy a horse which Steve had for sale and over a year of competing at BD managed to qualify for 2 Area Finals. This has happened with lots of hard work but also continuous help and encouragement both at home and at competitions.

Mel and Stephen provide a professional, fun and inclusive environment for all. initially I brought my older horse to them for full livery, they understood and accommodated his additional medical needs prior to his retirement and have helped me with taking on a new horse, which I have had continued support and training with as a younger ex-racehorse. Steve is a very enthusiastic and positive teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable but comes across in a language that is easy to understand and always take the time to explain why we are working on certain areas.

I approached Steve when I was having show jumping issues. I was doing very well after dressage at events and was always having a show jump or two down. Steve completely changed my approach to my jumping, getting me seeing a better stride and helped me work on getting a shorter more energetic canter. He has given me huge confidence in myself so I can enter the arena knowing me and my horse are both capable of jumping clear. My horse's technique has got better and he is finding it easier to jump when I don’t over ride him. Now the show jump clears are coming much easier and I’m really enjoying the show jumping phase. - Jack Stancombe
